Paul Goult - Kettering North

Paul has lived in Kingsley Avenue for over 15 years. Having previously worked in local government, he is aware of the pressures facing local services and believes that the current Conservative administration has had 4 years to meet those challenges and present a coherent, community focused approach to securing quality services and achieving value for money. Opportunities have been squandered and the community expected to pay increased costs e.g. green waste collection.
The citizens of Kettering North deserve a voice to ensure both concerns within the community and the wider town area are addressed. Over the previous 4 years, the current Green Party councillors have failed to be that voice. In 4 years, and 50 meetings, a Green Party councillor has only addressed, indeed attended, the Conservative Executive meeting once. Major financial and policy decisions are being made with no Kettering North representation.
In 4 years, the Green Party has never voted against the Conservative budget or Council Tax proposals. On two occasions Green Party councillors voted with the Conservatives.
In the budget meeting for 2025, the Green Party did not attend.
There has been a lack of direction and aspiration to improve the quality of life for those who live, work, or visit our area. We need to work with partners such as the Police, the NHS, the private sector and other agencies to ensure that services are retained and where possible improved.
Labour offers a credible alternative, putting the aspirations of the wider community at the centre of Council policy. A Labour Council, working with our Labour MP and a Labour Government would strive for positive results.
