Tim Healy – Loatland Ward
Tim has lived in Desborough for nearly 16 years. He is a retired journalist having worked on the Evening Telegraph for a decade during which time he reported on the meetings of Desborough Town Council in the late 1970s and early 80s.
Before retiring he worked on the Leicester Mercury based in the Market Harborough office. He is a member of the National Union of Journalists and supports Amnesty International.
Tim has an adult daughter who was educated in Kettering before graduating from De Montfort University. He enjoys singing and has been a member of a number of local mixed voice choirs. He is also a keen sports fan following Northampton Saints and Millwall.
Tim says – “Desborough has always had to fight to get its fair share of resources and support from both Kettering Borough Council and County Hall. It is a community with a rich history and I believe that needs to be preserved by a Labour Town Council which listens to the people and acts on local concerns.’
He added: ‘If elected I promise to represent the electors irrespective of their political affiliations. Desborough needs a council which does not quit. Whatever happens to the future of local government in the county, Desborough needs a local council that listens.’
