Thank you so much to all those residents who voted for me again on May 6th, to give me an opportunity to step into this new and exciting challenge to represent you on the new Kettering Town Council.

Having served you all for the past 10 years, as your representative on Kettering Borough Council, it is still unclear what roles the town council will have. All the principal services such as refuse, street cleaning, our wonderful parks & gardens, the swimming pool, leisure service and housing are all now the responsibility of the new North Northants Council.

However, I will continue to make myself available, report pot holes, fly tipping, and regularly litter pick. Also, as we gradually move out lockdown and community activity recommence, I look forward to being able to come and meet with you all again soon.

I also hope to soon be able to start regular street surgeries, which I have done a regular basis for the past 10 years. This is where I deliver a leaflet to about 200 houses at a time, and follow up a few days later to those residents who display the leaflet in their window if they would to discuss any issues with me.

Once again, thank you and hope to see you soon.

Cllr Maggie Don
Councillor for Kettering Town Council (Wicksteed & St Michaels) and Burton Latimer Town Council

I have lived in the borough for almost 40 years, and raised my family here. I was first elected to Kettering Borough Council in 1994, and was deputy leader of the Labour group, and lead spokesperson for housing and the voluntary sector, for many years. Now retired, but for many years I was the CEO for Kettering Centre for the Unemployed running education courses and providing support to those with little or no basic qualifications. I was elected to the new Kettering Town Council for Wicksteed & St Michaels and to Burton Latimer Town Council in May 2021.
