At a full meeting of Northamptonshire County Council this week Labour put forward a motion in support of Childrens Centres and the preventative work they do with young families and the long-term benefits this provides. We called for the Council to reaffirm its commitment to them and to provide adequate funding.
During the debate people spoke of the great work Childrens Centres such as Sure Start do along with the praising the work done by the local charity Home Start.
The motion was lost: For 15 (Labour and Lib Dems) Against 34 (Conservative and UKIP) with one abstention (Conservative).
