Improving councillor accountability to residents

Wouldn’t it be good if you could tell at a glance which councillors from all parties attend meetings on a regular basis? Also which don’t even give their apologies?

Councillors are accountable to the electorate after all, and as such residents should easily be able to discover how they are being represented.

I am proposing that Kettering Borough Council’s website includes those details in future. The proposal needs to go through the right committees, but I hope that the idea will become reality soon.

Anne has served as a Councillor for Pipers Hill on Kettering Borough Council for a number of years.
