John Padwick is standing to be elected to Northamptonshire County Council to represent the Ise Division
John is your Labour Party & Co-Operative Party Candidate for Ise Division
The Ise Division of Northamptonshire County Council covers the Ise Lodge estate and the villages of Geddington, Newton, Little Oakley, Cranford, Grafton Underwood, Weekley and Warkton.
The Labour candidate for the Ise Division is John Padwick.
John is a teacher, running his own tuition and consultancy business, with experience of project management in the statutory and voluntary sectors. He has lived in Geddington for over 25 years, and has a history of public service as a parish councillor since 1999, and as a borough councillor for eight years.
John believes in working with all to improve conditions in the local area, and as a parish and borough councillor successfully fought with others to get the Corby Link Road built, to reduce the danger of flooding and to limit overdevelopment in rural areas, protecting our green spaces from urban sprawl. He would bring this experience to the East of Kettering development and to the villages in the Division.
He is a firm believer in equality, and has worked particularly on LGBT issues across Northamptonshire. As an advocate of local heritage and the arts, he has promoted many quality events in Geddington Village Hall and led a campaign to commemorate the 1607 Newton Rebellion.
John gets things done. He will be a strong voice for the community across the vilages and the Ise Lodge estate.
Labour is campaigning hard to make Northamptonshire a better place to live and work. At a time when many people are suffering greatly because of cuts implemented by the Tory Government and Tory County Council, Labour is working to make our area better.
Our pledges to you:
- Labour will rebuild Adult Social Care Services.
- Labour will improve our pavements and roads.
- Labour will improve our failing Children’s Services.
- Labour will help and support local businesses.
- Labour will put people at the heart of decision-making.
