Supporting each other through Coronavirus Covid-19
Our communities globally are being affected by the novel Coronavirus Covid-19. The impact is widespread, and will continue to impact us all in the coming weeks and months. We need to support each other and our communities through this crisis, and we would like to share some practical ways that we can all do this.
This page will be updated regularly with relevant information - please feel free to come back for updates:

Please note that although we are a political party, this page has not been setup for any political purpose. On this issue it just happens we are an organisation within the community that simply wants to help as best we can through our own already established organisational structures. We are all in this together, and we encourage working alongside each other to best support our communities.
The local elections here in Kettering for the new local council have been postponed, and Labour both locally and nationally has rightly suspended all campaigning.
However, we encourage our members and the wider community to follow recommended practices – to wash hands regularly and keep good hygiene, to self isolate if you feel ill, and to self isolate if you are vulnerable.
We also encourage our members and the wider community to look out for each other, and to help each other. We ask that you check in on your neighbours, ensure that you have contact details of each other and are able to offer support as necessary.
Whether that’s fetching shopping for each other, or phoning each other, or setting up Skype / WhatsApp / Facetime video calls. We know that loneliness is real for many in our community under normal circumstances, when people need to self isolate this is going to increase.
We also ask that those that are able look to Facebook to help support community efforts. Some special local groups are being setup, and some established local groups are having people offer to help. The sense of community is heart warming – and we are all hear to help each other, we are all in this together.
Finally, here in Kettering and its surrounding villages and towns, we have some fantastic organisations that help local residents normally. They are always in need of volunteers to help, and will always welcome those able to and seeking to help anyway – but at this time, that need is even greater. Please see the box below for information on these organisations.
Likewise, members of our community are welcome to check back here regularly, and we will update this page as appropriate.
If you have any information that would be useful to add to this page, then please e-mail iain@ketteringlabourparty.org.
