Two of our Labour Councillors are taking part in charity events to help raise money for Home-Start Kettering. Home-Start is a charity that carries out important work helping and assisting families with young children, no matter what life throws at them. This includes helping with post-natal depression, disablility, isolation, stress and other challenges which can lead to crisis or other family issues.

Maggie Don, Borough Councillor for Wicksteed & St Michael's Ward, will be abseiling down the lift tower in Northampton at 11am on the 22nd April - all 481ft of it! You can sponsor Maggie by clicking here - she's aiming to help raise over £2000.

Then on the 3rd September Mick Scrimshaw, Borough Councillor for William Knibb Ward and County Councillor for Northall Division, will be part of Kettering Home-Start's Dragon Boat team at Wicksteed Park's annual Dragon Boat Race. You can sponsor Mick by clicking here - he's aiming to help raise over £1000.

I have lived in the borough for almost 40 years, and raised my family here. I was first elected to Kettering Borough Council in 1994, and was deputy leader of the Labour group, and lead spokesperson for housing and the voluntary sector, for many years. Now retired, but for many years I was the CEO for Kettering Centre for the Unemployed running education courses and providing support to those with little or no basic qualifications. I was elected to the new Kettering Town Council for Wicksteed & St Michaels and to Burton Latimer Town Council in May 2021.
