Kettering Council are currently running a campaign against dog mess, part of which includes the posting of warning notices in the worst affected areas.
Unhappy with the number of notices Councillor Mick Scrimshaw and myself called for many more to be used, but came up against the usual arguments about cost etc.
To get around this, together we were able to joint fund, from both Borough and County Council sources, an extra 100 warning signs to be used exclusively in our area and even though this still won’t provide the number we would like, it is a step in the right direction.
We can also direct where the problem areas are and ask that these streets be targeted first. This particular poster is in Green Lane for example following resident’s complaints made directly to us.
